Four contestants will try their luck at winning the title of Miss Tibet 2010 at a beauty pageant in Dharamsala, India this weekend.

One contestant says she believes her participation would give confidence to Tibetan girls.

Tenzin Norzon, Contestant, Miss Tibet 2010 Pageant:
"Being a Tibetan woman, this platform is made for our Tibetan girls and most of the girls don't have the guts to participate in this, so for them I want to boost confidence within them, and also if I win the crown then I have lot to do for my country."

But the event would be a low profile one because of the earthquake that hit the country last month.

Lobsang Wangyal, Director, Miss Tibet 2010 Pageant: "Because of the earthquake in Tibet, there will be no firecrackers. Although there will be some glamour but we will keep it very low profile and instead of fire crackers, there will be prayers because we want to show them that we are with you."

The ninth edition of the Miss Tibet pageant will take place between June 4 and 6.
