— Miss Tibet 2006 Tsering Chungtak has landed in Malaysia to take part in the Miss Tourism Pageant, to be held from 24 November to 7 December.

Over 30 young ladies from all over the world are taking part in the pageant, which will culminate in a grand finale night on 7 December in Sibu, Sarawak, eastern Malaysia.

It is for the second time that a Miss Tibet is participating in this pageant. Miss Tibet 2002 Dolma Tsering participated in the pageant's maiden show in 2003.

"I reached safely and well on time. I am very glad to be in Malaysia and feel very fortunate to be representing my country Tibet in Miss Tourism pageant. I feel proud too," says Chungtak by email.

"When I landed at Sibu airport, I met representatives from Botswana, Mongolia, China, India and Australia. They are very nice girls. The staff members came to our assistance and everyone welcome us at the airport. We all clicked pictures together."

"Miss Australia told me that she love Tibet. I was really happy when she said that. I felt Tibet is not alone. After checking in at our hotel, we all had lunch together. My roommate is Miss India Priyanka Sha."

The pageant is designed to bring together representatives of a wide range of communities and cultures from all over the world to share common values and foster international friendship and understanding.

The pageant is organised by Alaric's Productions Company, which produces numerous national and international beauty, fashion and entertainment events since 1983.
