Miss Tibet 2004, Tashi Yangchen, is all set to go to Zimbabwe to participate in Miss Tourism World.

Representatives from about 80 countries are participating in the pageant, which will be held from 12 to 27 February 2005.

The finale night will take place at the Victoria Falls on 26 February.

After much running around for the UK transit visa and the wardrobe requirements, Tashi is now settling down to prepare mentally to embark on the trip.

"I am much thrilled to participate in the Miss Tourism World 2005. Now I have to mentally prepare myself for the Big Event," Tashi says.

"I know it's not only an opportunity to meet girls from diferent cultural backgrounds, but it is also an opportunity to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Tibet and build up a strong rapport with the girls using my inherent good communication ability."

Although she feels that participation is more important than the outcome, nevertheless, she hopes to give her best shot in the Miss Tourism World pageant.

Zimbabwe is the country to experince:

  • The glory of the Victoria Falls, one of the seven wonders of the world
  • The mystery of Great Zimbabwe
  • Hwange National Park
  • Lake Kariba - one of the biggest man made lakes
  • Trans Limpopo Frontier - home to most wildlife species
  • The tranquility of the Eastern Highlands
  • The thrill of elephant rides
  • The exhilarating bunji jumping
  • The challenges of white water rafting

And above all, the hospitality of the Zimbabwean people.
