7 October 2004 – Things are hotting up for the five Miss Tibet hopefuls with only one more day of training left before the start of the pageant.

The contestants spent today practising choreography, catwalk and learning more about Tibetan culture, before visiting the Tibetan Institute for Performing Arts (TIPA) venue in McLeod Ganj, India where most of the pageant will be held.

The girls also met with Norbu Tsering, a retired Tibetan opera master living in McLeod Ganj, who gave them an introduction to Tibetan opera and explained its history.

The second and third days of the three-day pageant will be held at TIPA, while the swimsuit round, which takes place tomorrow (8 October), will be held at an undisclosed location.

On 9 and 10 October the girls will take part in six rounds: presentation, talent, introduction, evening gown, traditional Tibetan costume, and a final interview round where the judges will put questions to the contestants. This will be followed by a group dance before the announcement of the Miss Photogenic and the Miss Tibet 2004 winners.
