Miss Tibet 2012 Cancelled In Honour Of Tibet

In the wake of the growing unrest in Tibet, the 2012 Miss Tibet Pageant has been cancelled. The very grim current circumstances leave no room for pageantry and celebrations.

I take this opportunity to remember and pay homage to those who have died for the Tibetan cause, and stand in solidarity with all the Tibetans in Tibet.

With prayers,

Lobsang Wangyal

  1. Tashi Dhundup says:

Miss Tibet title is of great prestige! Please don’t help to globalise Tibetan’s look! the Miss Tibet title should go to a true Tibetan. Tibet’s beauty shouldn’t be compared to other races nor it should be replaced by other! Let’s not confuse the world! Let’s show how Tibetans really look, rather than that the Miss Tibet title would be carried by any non-looking Tibetan?
