Considering Ngodup Dolma’s subsequent actions, it has been decided to withdraw her title of First Runner-up for the Miss Tibet Pageant 2011.
The Pageant, in her own words “a very good platform for the young contemporary Tibetan women” and “bringing attention to the issue of Tibet”, turned into a bad platform for her, and the issue of Tibet was completely lost.
A true Miss Tibet would have the capacity to accept any eventuality, and think of the wider picture of the Pageant and the Tibetan cause. A true Miss Tibet wouldn’t find the need to attack the Pageant team, or to make such great efforts to discourage potential contestants, no matter how disappointed she was in the outcome of the Pageant.
Due to her unprofessional and unethical behaviour, it has been decided that Dolma is not worthy of the title. Hence Dolma Tsering, the Second Runner-up, will take the position of the First Runner-up. Tenzin Kecheo, as next in line, will take the position of the Second Runner-up.
