Five final contestants were expected for this year’s pageant, but four dropped out at the last minute due to various personal problems. Hence the programmes scheduled on the 6th and the 7th have been cancelled.

Yangzom has been attending His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings for three days, and rehearsing for Sunday’s coronation event.

The coronation ceremony will see Yangzom will appear in three rounds, beginning with introducing herself with the short speech that she had prepared for the talk round. She will then present herself on the ramp walk in evening gown, and in traditional Tibetan costume for the presentation she had prepared for her talent round.

The Miss Tibet 2011 Tenzin Yangkyi will be the special guest and present a song in duet with one of the best-known Tibetan artistes Techung. There are a few other artistes lined up for the evening to entertain us.

The raffle to have a “Dinner with Miss Tibet” will be announced on the same evening. There are still many tickets left for this exciting event. The winner of the raffle and a friend can have a dinner with the new Miss Tibet Tenzin Yangzom, accomapnied by the pageant director, on the 9th at Nick’s Italian Kitchen, the sponsor of the dinner.
