When I came to South Korea I was focused on winning the beauty pageant (Miss Asia Pacific World 2011). I wanted to do proud for my country — Tibet. I had lots of fun with all the contestants. Now we all are keeping in touch through social network websites.
The schedule was not really on time, and we didn’t do many of the things that were written in it. Miss Asia Pacific World 2011 beauty pageant in Korea was a big mess.
We had many problems as well with a few staff from the pageant organisers. I won’t mention the names! It was my first international pageant, but with a bad experience. But I think through every experience, if bad or good, you always learn new lessons in life.
In the end, I couldn’t enjoy the beauty pageant at all, and didn’t have the joy during the finale. I did it on behalf of all Tibetans, to represent our country Tibet, our unique tradition and culture.
A highlight for me, was that Sushmita Sen was there for the show. She was in South Korea to take part in the Busan Asia Film Festival 2011. She is truly a wonderful person — beautiful, gorgeous, and very graceful. I always keep in touch with her 🙂 My favourite: Sushmita Sen <3
In the talent round, the second place was won by a competitor who had not even performed.
During the finale night we had Hanbok (Korean traditional costume), Bikini round, National costume and the Evening gown round. During the national costume round I was hiding our national flag inside my national costume, and when I walked the ramp I took our beautiful and colourful flag out and very proudly introduced it to the audience 🙂
Then the result was like a joke. The Korean contestant Park Sae Byul was announced to be the winner. France and Russia were declared first and second runners-up respectively. Now the result has been changed and the new winner is Florima Treiber from France.
I won the "People's Choice Award" and I was suppose to recieve a trophy at the finale. But the admin (Pawee) told me that the trophy got stolen 🙁
I want to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported me in the online voting and giving me such warm loving support. I particularly would like to thank Bay Area Tibetans for their kind donation of 875 USD. Among many supporters and well-wishers, I would like to express thanks and appreciation to Jhola Techung la from California, Kelsang la of Lakar Designs from Bangalore, Tsering Dhondup la from California, Sonam G Sherpa la from NYC, Tsegoen la from NYC, Pemchoe la from NYC, Mrs Pasang Memmishofer from Zurich, Dekey la from NYC, Phil Void of Dharma Bums from Woodstock, Maryse Sergent from Languedoc-Roussillon in France, Akiko Shigemoto from NYC, and Passang Lhamo ex-TIPA from Toronto.
I also would like to thank Tenzin Kunsel, Sonam Rinzin, Tenzin Dolma, Tenzin Woeser, and many others for their support. And finally I have to thank my director Lobsang Wangyal la, and most of all my mother for her whole-hearted support.
