Tibetan sources say that more than 10,000 people have died from the earthquake. We need to pray for those who have died and who are still suffering, and bring awareness about their plight to the world. In the next few days, the contestants will be trained in yoga, cat walk and dance. They will meet with Tibetan experts who will speak to them about Tibetan culture, media, Buddhism, and other subjects. The first round of the pageant, the swimsuit round, will be held on the 4th of June. The Talk and Talent rounds will be held on the 5th at TIPA, and the Finale will be held on the evening of the 6th June at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts. The winner will be presented with 100,000 India rupees (2,200 USD approx). The first runner-up will receive 50,000 rupees, and the second runner-up will receive 25,000 rupees. We hope you will join us in saying prayers to the earthquake victims, and to welcome a new Miss Tibet.
