Reacting after winning the title, Tenzin Dolma said she was happy that she would represent her country in the Miss Earth Pageant. She said she would first like to meet the Dalai Lama. She said, "The Miss Tibet can use the title for talking about the Tibetan cause at the international level and can bring it to the notice of the common masses through media around the world. This way, Tibetans can receive support for the cause."

Tenzin Dolma, a local, said she was happy that despite division over the issues in Tibetan society her parents allowed her to take part in the pageant.

The first runner-up and Miss Photogenic Tsering Yangzom said, "Miss Tibet is a beautiful platform through which Tibetan women can show the unique culture of Tibet. They can also speak about the plight of the Tibetan people."

The Miss Tibet pageant is an event that every Tibetan should feel proud of, she observed.
