Methok Lhanze is 20 years old. She was born in Derge, Kham, in Eastern Tibet. She likes travelling and music.

She first came to India in 1999, but had to return in 2002 due to her father's illness. Unfortunately he took his last breath before she got back home. Since she had attended a Tibetan school in India, the Chinese authorities accused her as a Tibetan government agent. They imprisoned her for more than a month, where she was beaten and maltreated to force her to make a confession. After her release she was put under surveillance, which made her life miserable. She had no choice but to leave for India, arriving again in the country in 2004. She is now studying in Delhi.

After she returned to Tibet, she pursued a career in modelling and fashion design.

A Miss Tibet can help the Tibetan issue by making other countries aware of Tibet and the Tibetan people, spreading awareness around the world that there is a country like Tibet, and Tibetan women with brains and beauty. Briefly, it would help us to succeed in this competitive world.
